Cookie Policy
This page describes how GimKit Join uses cookies and similar browser storage.
Last updated: September 9, 2026
What are cookies
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. They help websites remember settings or keep you signed in. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage.
What we use
GimKit Join uses a minimal set of technologies:
- Essential cookies: may be set to keep the site secure, route requests, or remember basic session state while you use host or join pages.
- Local storage: we may save your host display name on your device so you do not enter it every time you create a game. You can clear this in your browser settings.
- Game session data: while a live game runs, your browser may store temporary state so the scoreboard and questions update correctly.
What we do not use
- Advertising cookies that follow students across other websites.
- Social media pixels on the live game screen.
- Third-party marketing profiles built from quiz answers.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block all cookies, some parts of GimKit Join may not work correctly, especially live games that need session state.
Clearing local storage removes a saved host name but does not delete active game rooms on our servers until those rooms expire.
Updates
If we add analytics or optional cookies in the future, we will update this page and describe how to opt out where required by law.
