About the classic engine
Classic is where most teachers start. Every correct answer pays virtual money. Wrong answers can cost you. Between questions, students spend earnings on power-ups like Double Money, Shield, and Hint. Highest balance when time runs out wins.
Classic is a core themed skin on the classic engine. Gameplay rules follow that engine while the theme adds flavor for your classroom.
Host Classic free on GimKit Join — pick a kit from the quiz library, share a six-character code, and run the game from your host panel. Students join at /join with no account. Sessions typically run 10–20 min with 2–40+ in one room.
Whether you teach elementary, middle, or high school, Classic turns review into something students actually want to play. Pair it with kits from math, science, ELA, or social studies — or write your own questions on the Create page.
