Classic on GimKit

Earn money. Buy power-ups. Win.

Classic is where most teachers start. Every correct answer pays virtual money. Wrong answers can cost you. Between questions, students spend earnings on power-ups like Double Money, Shield, and Hint. Highest balance when time runs out wins.

Classic uses the classic money loop. Right answers pay. Wrong ones cost. Kids buy power-ups between questions. Most teachers start here because the rules are easy to explain in thirty seconds.

Ready-made kits for Classic

You do not have to write questions from scratch. Pick a kit below and we load it in Classic mode. Edit anything you want on Create before you share the code. Or browse the full quiz library for more subjects.

Teacher tips

  • Start with 8–12 questions so rounds feel fast.
  • Remind kids to buy power-ups before the final question.

How it works in class

Build or import a question set, pick Classic, and get a room code. Students open Join on any device. You start the game from your host screen. Money, power-ups, and the scoreboard update live.

Wrong answers in Classic follow this mode's rules. Wrong answers cost money unless a Shield power-up saves you.

Need a different vibe tomorrow? Try Classic, Team Mode, or Knockout with the same quiz. Only the rules change.

Common questions

How do I host Classic for free?

Open Create, pick Classic, load a ready-made kit below or write your own questions, then share the room code. No account needed. Students join from the Join page on any device.

How many students can play Classic?

Classic works with 2–40+ players. Full classes on Chromebooks and phones are fine. If the lobby feels crowded, split into two rooms with the same quiz.

What quiz should I use with Classic?

Start with one of the kits on this page. They are picked for Classic and load in one click. You can edit questions before you go live or build your own from scratch.

How long does a Classic game take?

Most classes finish in 10–20 min. Eight to ten questions is the sweet spot. Shorter sets work for bell ringers. Longer sets work for full-period review.

Can I switch modes after picking Classic?

Yes. On Create you can change the mode before you start. The same quiz works in Classic, Team, Knockout, and the rest. Pick the mode that fits your class mood that day.
