Knockout on GimKit

Wrong answer? You are out.

Knockout adds elimination drama to review day. Answer correctly to stay alive. Miss one and you are out until the next game. Last players standing split the top of the leaderboard.

Knockout is built for high stakes. One wrong answer can knock a kid out of the round, so they actually read the question instead of tapping the first button. Run it before a test when you want focus, not chaos.

Ready-made kits for Knockout

You do not have to write questions from scratch. Pick a kit below and we load it in Knockout mode. Edit anything you want on Create before you share the code. Or browse the full quiz library for more subjects.

Teacher tips

  • Keep question sets shorter. Six to eight questions works well.
  • Run a quick Classic warm-up first.

How it works in class

Build or import a question set, pick Knockout, and get a room code. Students open Join on any device. You start the game from your host screen. Money, power-ups, and the scoreboard update live.

Wrong answers in Knockout follow this mode's rules. Miss one and you are out for the round.

Need a different vibe tomorrow? Try Classic, Team Mode, or Knockout with the same quiz. Only the rules change.

Common questions

How do I host Knockout for free?

Open Create, pick Knockout, load a ready-made kit below or write your own questions, then share the room code. No account needed. Students join from the Join page on any device.

How many students can play Knockout?

Knockout works with 6–30 players. Full classes on Chromebooks and phones are fine. If the lobby feels crowded, split into two rooms with the same quiz.

What quiz should I use with Knockout?

Start with one of the kits on this page. They are picked for Knockout and load in one click. You can edit questions before you go live or build your own from scratch.

How long does a Knockout game take?

Most classes finish in 8–15 min. Eight to ten questions is the sweet spot. Shorter sets work for bell ringers. Longer sets work for full-period review.

Can I switch modes after picking Knockout?

Yes. On Create you can change the mode before you start. The same quiz works in Classic, Team, Knockout, and the rest. Pick the mode that fits your class mood that day.
